How do you do long exposure on your camera?

--
Photography gives you the power no other man can have; the one to make people see through your eyes.

M mode.
Well no. Yes. Kinda. Its the only mode I can use with that lense.
:iconinspiredcreativity:
Have you seen the videos or photos of writing in light. Do you know how to do it? I'm curious and too lazy to figure it out myself.

Yea, I've done it before. I love doing that kinda stuff, and all it takes, for me, is to change shutter speed and aperture.
:iconinspiredcreativity:
Thank You. I will try to extract more info from you later...lol

:iconalexandervander:
Haha yea.
But it all varies on the camera.
:iconinspiredcreativity:
Surely there must be some secret to this. What typical aperture and shutter speed do you use, as a start point?

We are finally getting ready to buy anew camera. But "he who must be obeyed" is being stingy. I have tried to explain that our duty as patriotic Americans is to spend as much money as we possibly can, without incurring more debt of course, to help our economy. He on the other hand of the economist, argues the personal prudence of saving for when it gets even worse. What good a camera if you have no roof over your head, he says.

The economy hangs on this very debate.

The speed is up there, but DA f-ed it up. It really depends. See I'm using lenses from the 70s, and so like ƒ/2.0 or something. And shutter speed really varies on the effect your looking for. Aperture varies by camera or lense though.

If you wanna really be a "good American", buy a dSLR because those are the best [and most pricy]. And there's many options for them.
